What common themes did you see between the first part of the story, where Muriel was speaking with her mother and the second part where Seymour was on the beach? Common symbols?

What event pushed Seymour to the point of suicide? Did the bananafish have anything to do with it?

Explain why the author chose to write Seymour Glass's name as "see more glass" when Sybil said it? Did this have to do anything with Seymour's character, or is that just how Sybil pronounced it?
