I personally read the part about the story behind the bananafish as a metaphor of going off to war and not being able to re-enter society. Are there any other interpretations of the story? Was there a sexual reference in this?

Do you think Muriel can truly not see that anything major is wrong with Seymour, or is she just in denial?

Why did Sybil ask Seymour if he liked wax and olives? Is it just because she is young?
