the cup and “look[s] also at her slumbering child?

1. Why does Hester decide not to flee, and instead stay
alone in the cabin, regardless of her isolation and loneliness?
2. Do the harsh stairs and judgments of the other town
members impact Hester? How do the town members make Hester feel about her situation?
Does she feel guilt and believes she has sinned? Or is she okay with what she
has done?
